The Big Read 2006
The Big Read 2006
This event is part of The Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is one of 10 communities selected to participate in The Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
The Big Read provides citizens with the opportunity to read and discuss a single book within their community. It is designed to revitalize the role of literature in the nation's popular culture, and to bring the transformative power of literature into the lives of its citizens. Through this initiative, the NEA is working with multiple partners across the country to encourage Americans to read for pleasure and enlightenment.
The National Endowment for the Arts believes that a great nation deserves great art. The Big Read exemplifies the Arts Endowment's commitment to help the arts become accessible to more Americans.
