I want to be your Friend!
Q.) Can I sign up to be a Friend the night of the event?
A.) Yes! This is an exclusive Friends-only event in celebration of the recent Friends Membership Drive. You can join at the door the night of the event, but remember that you can be on the VIP guest list as a Friend if you join prior to June 9th.
Q.) What is the cost of being a Friend of the Library?
A.) The membership fees are as follows:
Senior Citizen / Student $15.00
Individual / Library Staff $20.00
Good Friend $50.00
Best Friend $100.00
Q.) I joined last year. Do I have to join again?
A.) Yes – in order to stay a current Friends member, you must renew your membership every year.
Q.) I prefer to join at a particular branch close to my home or work. Can I do that?
A.) Yes – you may join at any branch of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, as long as you notate which Friends group you wish to be affiliated with.
Q.) Can I be a member of two Friends groups at once? For example, both the Monrovia Friends and the Main Friends?
A.) Yes – if you wish to be a member of multiple Friends groups, you must join each one. An Individual who wants to belong to both the Monrovia and the Main Friends would need to send $20 to Monrovia and $20 to Main, notating on each the branch they wish to belong to. This is a great way to support both your immediate neighborhood library as well as the Main Library.
Q.) What are the perks of being a Friend of the Library?
A.) As a Friend, you will receive:
Cover to Cover, the bimonthly newsletter about the Library and the Friends
Advance notice of special events, author luncheons, and book sales
A gentle email reminder the day before your library materials are due (please provide email address!)
An invitation to the annual membership drive celebration with a renowned author; occurs each June
That warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you know you’ve contributed to your Public Library!
Q.) Now that I’ve joined, how can I become a more active Friends member?
A.) Go to meetings! Each Friends group meets regularly – contact the library you are affiliated with and find out when they meet. New participants are always welcome!
