Author announced for 25th Anniversary of 'Vive le Livre"
The Huntsville Library Foundation is proud to announce the featured author for the very special 25th Anniversary of the ‘Vive le Livre’ event. Best-selling author and attorney Scott Turow will deliver the keynote at the dinner reception, scheduled for Thursday, November 3rd.
Turow is the author of nine best-selling works of fiction, including his first novel, Presumed Innocent (1987) and the sequel, Innocent, published by Grand Central Publishing in May, 2010.
He has also written two non-fiction books about his experiences in law as a partner in the Chicago based SNR Denton (formerly Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal) international law firm, specializing in white collar criminal defense and pro bono cases.
A trustee of Amherst College and the President of the Authors Guild, the nation’s largest membership organization of professional writers, Scott Turow has also served as first Chair of Illinois’ Executive Ethics Commission (created in 2004 to regulate state executive branch employees), and on the Illinois Commission on Capital Punishment (to recommend reforms to Illinois’ death penalty system).
Vive le Livre, or “Long Live the Book”, is The Huntsville Library Foundation’s Annual Gala fundraising event. Vive features a great contemporary author for a ticketed reception, dinner, keynote address and book signing. The Huntsville Library Foundation’s goal is to share with the community the literary world’s best and brightest as we support the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library.
