TEEN READ WEEK

October 16-22, 2011: Teen Read Week is an initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA). Teen Read Week started in 1998.

This year's theme is Picture It @ your library®, which encourages teens to read graphic novels and other illustrated materials, seek out creative books, or imagine the world through literature, just for the fun of it. Libraries across the world celebrate Teen Read Week with a variety of special events and programs aimed at encouraging teens to read for pleasure and to visit their libraries for free reading materials.

Teen Painting Night Oct. 18th, 6pm Come paint the night sky with a large beautiful moon! Space will be limited to 20, so sign up today.	Fey Art Contest Oct. 16th-22nd Picture It! - Your art on display in front of hundreds of people at this year’s Fey Masquerade Ball (October 29th).	Crunchy Art Oct. 18th, 4pm Create a rockin’ glass vase that you can redecorate to fit your mood!	Game Night: Picture it @ the Library Oct. 15, 4pm
Teen Writer’s Night Oct. 20th, 6pm Put your creativity to work as we work with Dr. Dupre of Athens State University to improve our writing skills.	Picture Yourself Fae Oct. 18, 6pm Ms Mandy & Ms Maggie will be on hand for help prepare for HMCPL’s Masquerade Ball!	Movie Nights Oct. 17,19 & 20, 4pm Celebrate Teen Read Week with popcorn and a movie!
Movie Marathon Oct. 22nd, 11am-5pm Come enjoy scary, but funny movies.	Picture Yourself Terrified Oct. 20 ,6pm Childhood dreams come alive this October, as we watch Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
	TEEN Dress Swap Put your vintage clothes and jewelry to good use at our Teen Dress Swap on October 18 during our TEEN Picture Yourself Fae program Costume dropoff dates October 14th-18th Remember, supplies are limited (& are based on what is brought - so give a little, get a little!)
