Celebrating Native American History: A Special Author Event
We are pleased to welcome three authors who have written books that highlight Native American history and culture, for this special event on December 6.
1. Charles Moore , author of Come Tell Me How You Lived
This book contains local stories and rare information about Native Americans from along the Tennessee River. It has beautiful pictures of archeological artifacts. Here is a review of the book.
2. Butch Walker , author of Warrior Mountain
This book contains historical research on Native Americans from across North Alabama.
3. Wheeler Pounds, author of Histories of Cherokee Hideaway
This is the first in a historical fiction trilogy about an Indian family that escaped removal.
The event will take place on Tuesday, December 6, at 6:30 pm in the Main branch auditorium.
Books will be available for purchase and signing by the authors at this event. It is free and open to the public. Please contact Luisa at lmorenilla [at] hmcpl [dot] org with questions.
