How to do Things: Ballroom Dancing

This class is now full. But we will schedule another similar class soon, so check back!  You can also take advantage of other programs that will help you discover healthy habits for the new year: Fit for the New Year on Jan. 11, Don't Stress on Jan. 12, Vegan Movie Night on January 12, and Tai Chi on Jan. 24.

This class will be taught by experienced and talented local ballroom dancer Ricky Calle. It will begin at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, January 10, in the second floor events room of the Main branch.

This class is free and open to the public, but registration is required and limited to 24 people due to limited space. Please register using the form provided.

The class will consist of two 40 minute sessions with a 10 minute break in between.

The first session will be American Rumba and we will learn the following steps:
1. Side Basic
2. Box step
3. Cross-body lead
4. Slow Underarm turn
5. Put all of the above in a dance routine

The second session will be American Waltz and we will learn the following steps:
1. Box Step
2. Box step with underarm turn
3. Progressive
4. Reverse Turn
5. Natural Turn
6. Put all of the above steps in a dance routine
