Move over Scarlett; meet 'The Rebel Wife'
The main library will host a book signing for Huntsville native Taylor M. Polites in support of his first book, "The Rebel Wife," on Tuesday, February 21.
Taylor M. Polites has a hot book on his hands with his debut novel, "The Rebel Wife," a historical narrative of post-Civil War Alabama. Find out more about the book that's been called “the love child of William Faulkner and Margaret Mitchell” when Polites talks about his work on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the second-floor events room at the main library. Books will be available for sale and signing.
O Magazine lists “The Rebel Wife” as one of “Ten Titles to Pick Up Now” in the February issue. The magazine’s review says, “This engrossing novel about a resilient heroine in the post-Civil War South has all the drama of the era and none of the clichés.”
The Atlanta-Journal Constitution named “The Rebel Wife” one of the best new Southern books for 2012. BookPage gave the novel five stars and a glowing review for “shattering stereotypes in antebellum Alabama.”
