Beginning Crochet and Broomstick Lace @ Madison
Join us on March 23 as Crystal Kitchens teaches how to crochet and make broomstick lace.
Broomstick lace can be used to make all sorts of lacy items, such as afghans, scarves, and shawls. After learning a couple of stitches, you will soon be making "peacock eye" lace. Previous crochet experience is not required.
Date: Friday, March 23, 2012
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Place: Madison Meeting Room
Ages: 14+
Supply fee: $5 - or you may provide your own supplies.
Please bring a sack lunch.
**If you provide your own supplies, you will need a mandrill (which can be a large knitting needle or a dowel, around 10"-12" long and between 3/4"-1" in diameter with a short but defined point); either worsted weight yarn and a size G or H crochet hook, or sports weight yarn and a size E or F crochet hook; and scissors. Please do not bring any of the eyelash, ribbon, fuzzy or “homespun” yarns for the first project.
