Happy Birthday, Fort Book!

Show your library love during a Hug the Library party and scavenger hunt on Sunday, May 6. We're celebrating the 25th birthday of the Main Library, "Fort Book," which opened to the public on April 26, 1987.

On May 6, we’re inviting the community to gather outside the library, join hands, circle the building and sing "Happy birthday, Fort Book!" The fun begins at 1:30 p.m. with the big hug. Members of the Huntsville Drum Circle will add their beats to the festivities.

After the hug, get to know your library better during a scavenger hunt starting at 2 p.m. inside the building. Visit the various library departments, from Youth Services to the Computer Training Center to the Heritage Room, and solve clues to win prizes. Click here to view the scavenger hunt instructions.
