Women of the Civil War

Local historian Nancy Rohr will discuss the role of women in the Civil War during two lectures: “Incidents of the War: The Civil War Diary of Mary Jane Chadick” on Monday, May 7, and “Huntsville Heroes of the Civil War – Heroines All” on Tuesday, May 8.

Both programs will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the atrium of the main Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, 915 Monroe St. They are part of a series of lectures held in conjunction with the traveling exhibit “Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War,” now on view in the library atrium. For more information, visit hmcpl.org or call Elisabeth Spalding at 256-532-5989.
