Vive le Livre presents Jon Meacham
The Huntsville Library Foundation presents journalist and author Jon Meacham as guest speaker for the 26th annual Vive le Livre, Long Live the Book, on Tuesday, October 23, in the Von Braun Center.
Tickets may be purchased on the Huntsville Library Foundation website
Politics and history take center stage at Vive le Livre 2012. Meacham won a 2009 Pulitzer Prize for American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House. His other New York Times bestsellers include Franklin and Winston: An Intimate Portrait of an Epic Friendship, which explores the relationship between the two World War II leaders, and American Gospel: God, the Founding Fathers, and the Making of a Nation. His latest presidential biography, Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power, will be published in November.
A former Newsweek editor, Meacham is now executive vice president and executive editor at the Random House Publishing Group and is a contributing editor at Time, where he writes for the magazine’s Ideas section. He is editing the Politico Inside Election 2012 e-book series and a book by Al Gore. He is also working on a biography of President George H.W. Bush.
In keeping with the political nature of Meacham’s work, Vive le Livre 2012 will be held exactly two weeks before Election Day.
