Weave a Melon Basket

Learn to weave a melon basket at the Madison Public Library on Friday, August 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You'll learn how to handle reed, make a god’s eye, and shape a ribbed basket. Both dyed reed and seagrass will be available for decorating your basket. No experience is required. Bring a towel (basket making is wet work) and sack lunch, and wear comfortable clothes.

The class is open to ages 14 and older. The $12 supply fee provides all needed materials. Space is limited so sign up soon.
