Meet the Author: Jamie Dodson
The intrigue of international espionage and the excitement of aviation’s early golden age combine in the Nick Grant Adventure series by local author Jamie Dodson. Hear him talk about his work and the time period that inspired him during a Meet the Author program on Sunday, October 14th, at 2 p.m. at the Main Library.
Admission is free. For more information, contact Sophie Young at 256-532-2362.
Jamie's series begins in the spring of 1935 in California with "Flying Boats & Spies." As high school junior Nick Grant tries to support his mother and sister during the Great Depression, he's swept into a deadly contest between spies struggling to control the Pacific Ocean. His life changes when Anne Lindbergh offers him a month's wages to deliver a mysterious map case.
Nick continues to pursue his aviation dreams in "China Clipper." He's a high school senior, working part time at Pan Am's Clipper base. Several strange "accidents" cast suspicion on Nick and bring the FBI on the scene. Has Nick's old nemesis,Japanese master spy Miyazaki, returned?
Nick and Miyazaki face off again in "Mission: Shanghai." Nick's recruited into the Office of Naval Intelligence, and Miyazaki is out to steal U.S. Naval radio codes.
