Fill your new e-reader or tablet at the library

Whether you received a tablet, e-reader, or smartphone for the holidays, the library has free content for all the hot new devices -- plus classes in January to help you download that content.

Your public library provides free downloadable books, audiobooks, and music for you to use on your PC, laptop and portable devices. The library provides this content through multiple vendors (Overdrive, Freegal, Freading, Axis360). Each one offers different types of content, so let us help you find what interests you in our free class on "downloadables." The Computer Training Center at the Main Library (915 Monroe Street) will offer four "Audiobooks, eBooks, and More!" classes in January, 2013.

Although we cannot troubleshoot individual devices in class, you will learn how to borrow items from our collections. You'll learn how to find items that interest you and find out where to get information about downloading your selections to your computer at home or transferring them to a compatible portable device for use on the go.

Call 256-532-2356 or come by the Main Library to sign up.
