A Not-for-Profit Hospice in a For-Profit World
When you're a not-for-profit hospice provider in a for-profit world, you face lots of challenges. Donna Davenport, volunteer coordinator for Hospice Family Care, discusses these and more in a Nonprofit Lunch & Learn program on Thursday, June 20, at noon at the Main Library.
"Challenges Facing a Not-for-Profit Hospice in a For-Profit World" will be presented in the Second Floor Events Room. Davenport's presentation aims to clarify many of the misconceptions about hospice services, i.e. who is eligible, when are they eligible, what services are provided, and who pays for the services.
Hospice Family Care is a not-for-profit hospice provider, and she will talk about how that makes her organization different from the many for-profit providers. She will also address the challenges Hospice Family Care faces as the staff continues to provide exceptional care for the seriously ill in a very competitive environment.
