Groundbreaking for Triana Public Library

The Town of Triana will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new Triana Public Library on Friday, June 14, at 4 p.m. at 640 Sixth St. in Triana.

In September 2009, fire devastated the facility where the small town’s library and the Boys and Girls Club shared space. In announcing the groundbreaking ceremony, Triana Mayor Mary Caudle noted that the Leadership Huntsville-Madison County organization was instrumental in bringing together the Town of Triana, Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, community leaders, and local businesses to re-establish one of the town’s vital resources for the citizens of Triana by assisting in securing a temporary building to house the library.

“We are so excited to start the process of rebuilding our library," Caudle said. "I am so proud of how our community has rallied together to make this happen. Finding funds to help rebuild the Library was a very long process but the time is finally here.”

The event will feature remarks from the mayor, City Council members and other community leaders at 4 p.m. The public is invited.

Monetary donations for the permanent Library project should be made payable to the “Town of Triana Library  Re-Building Fund” and are being received at the First Commercial Bank on Hughes Road in Madison or at the Town of Triana Municipal Building. Donations may also be mailed to Town of Triana, ATTN: Triana Public Library Club re-building fund, 640 6th Avenue, Madison, AL 35756.
