Let's scare up some fun!

Celebrate the frightful fun of Halloween throughout October with story times, craft programs, and, of course, trick-or-treating at our library branches.

Thursday, October 31: Happy Halloween!

Dress up in your Halloween costume and come to a Read-and-Treat Story Time on October 31 at 9:15 and 10:30 a.m. at the Bailey Cove Library, 1409 Weatherly Plaza S.E., 256-881-0257

Trick-or-Treat at the Main Library on October 31 from 10 a.m. to noon and from 4 to 6 p.m. Goblins, witches, pirates, princesses, and ghouls of all sorts are welcome to trick-or-treat at our downtown location, 915 Monroe St. For more information contact Annie Pendergrass at 256-532-5949 or apendergrass [at] hmcpl [dot] org.

The Youth Services department at the Main Library will stage a Spooktacular Puppet Show on October 31 at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The program will feature fun tales pulled from some of our favorite books, rhymes, and songs. The Supernova Science Club at the Eleanor E. Murphy Library will explore Spooky Science on October 31 at 4 p.m. The club is open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
