Space program memorabilia

You are invited to attend and document a special presentation being made to the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, Monday, December 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. Three framed space flight commemorative pieces will be presented featuring the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space programs, missions, and flight patches.

The dedication reads as follows:

This commemorative of the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions is donated to the Huntsville Public Library by Richard C. Emanuel and family in honor of Garvin R. Emanuel and all the men and women who put America in space and who helped us all take “one giant leap for mankind”.

It is also dedicated to the citizens of Huntsville who, along with Marshall Space Flight Center, struggled through every setback and celebrated every splashdown.

This dedication is important because it honors all the current and former employees of NASA and Marshall Space Flight Center and because it honors the citizens of Huntsville.
