Supernova Science Club

Kids can explore a new science topic and have fun, too, each Thursday at 4 p.m and select Wednesdays at 4pm in the Supernova Science Club. Space is limited to 16 children and there is a first-come first-serve sign up sheet each week. In weeks that host 2 club meetings, children may only attend 1 meeting: either Wednesday OR Thursday.

Join Ms. Haley for exciting, hands-on science experiments. All supplies are provided and kids will receive a summary of topics covered.  Kids grades K-5 welcome! Here's the current program lineup:

June 5 - Mindgear: Guests from Mindgear labs will present a fun science acitivity for kids to participate in.

June 12 - Magent Money: Kids can help extract metal from money.

June 18 & 19 - Sun Safety: We'll learn about sun safety and create sun art. Children may attend either Wednesday or Thursday, and must indicate which on sign up.

June 26 - RISE Raptor Project: Learn about birds of prey when RISE brings some of their raptor friends to the library.

July 2 & 3 - Weight and Balance: We'll learn about center of gravity, weight and mass as children make their own balance scales.

July 10 - Huntsville Hospital: Our Summer Reading partner, Huntsville Hospital, will visit with a medical science project.

July 17 - Genetics: We'll explore basic genetics and children will create their own genetic map.

July 24 -  End of Summer Reading Party: Join us for our wrap-up party and the announcement of Science Fair Winners. No sign up is required to attend the party.
