Rummage and Raffle at Gurley

The Friends of Gurley Library will hold a Rummage and Raffle fundraiser on September 20-21.

The fun starts with an early-bird shopping opportunity on Friday, September 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gurley Library, 225 Walker St., in Gurley. Admission is $5 at the door.

R.A. Nelson, local author of young adult novels, will offer advice on how to write a query letter and get an agent on Wednesday, August 21, at 5:30 p.m., at the Madison Public Library, 130 Plaza Blvd. in Madison.

The program is a writers' schmooze hosted by Southern Breeze, the Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi division of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. A toast to Summer Reading!

Let's celebrate the great books we read this summer with a great party. Join us for Books & Brews on Thursday, August 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Straight to Ale Brewery, 3200 Leeman Ferry Road.

The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library's Adult Summer Reading program was so much fun that we want to end with something special. Our party will include group trivia, live music, a book swap, Blind Date with a Book, and a chance to meet other reading fans.
