Help Yourself to Health: Cancer Prevention on March 26

Join us at this informative session where Dr. Harry James McCarty from the Center for Cancer Care in Huntsville will speak and answer your questions about cancer and cancer prevention. We'll also be enjoying healthy snacks!

This program is free and open to the public. It will take place in the Main branch auditorium on Saturday, March 26 at 2 pm.

Friends of Showers Center Library First Annual Walk-A-Thon!

Are you a walker?  If so, please support the Showers Center Library on Saturday, April 9, beginning at 8 a.m, for the Friends of the Showers Center Library Walk-A-Thon.

This event will take place at the Richard Showers Recreation Center.  Registration will open at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m.

Author Wayne Greenhaw speaks about his new book on Thursday, March 10.

Please join us for a fascinating talk from  Wayne Greenhaw, author of Fighting the Devil in Dixie: How the Civil Rights Activists Took on the Ku Klux Klan in Alabama.  Copies of the book will be for sale at the event.
