Triana Public Library: The Comeback Story

On September 29, 2009 the Triana Public Library burned, leaving a cherished community center in ashes.  Coming back from a devastating fire is not easy, but the library is on its way thanks to the Lowes Heroes program.

A few days shy of the fire’s one year anniversary, employees from four Lowes stores will be rolling up their sleeves to help build picnic tables, a reading deck and landscape the portable building the Triana Public Library now occupies. Read more about Triana Public Library: The Comeback Story

Your Library Needs You!

If you are willing to devote at least two hours a week to your community on a continual basis, the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library needs you!

The Main Library is seeking multiple volunteers to help assist patrons with our new RFID check-out system and act as a friendly concierge at the main entrance, work on the Heritage Room Obituary Index project or help with other duties, special tasks or events.     S2S-B2B Breast Cancer Awareness Event

    This event, focusing on awareness and health of breast cancer, will feature a guest speaker, music, spoken-word poetry, free giveaways and health tips.

    Sister 2 Sister Brother 2 Brother Book Club and the Help Yourself to Health Initiative are hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness program October 16 at 2 p.m.  The focus will be on breast cancer awareness and how to be in tune with your body.  Our guest speaker will share her journey from finding a lump to how she has been able to survive breast cancer.
