4th annual Helen P. Lee Fun Run

Join us as The Friends of the Madison County Public Library help celebrate the library's birthday with a Fun Run for ages 0 - 9 years, complete with stroller and toddler races!    

The 4th Annual Helen P. Lee Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m. and will include a morning of fun runs, goofy relays, crafts, birthday cake  in celebration of the library's birthday.

The Great Big Book Bash

After all the hardships that North Alabama has faced, admission to this year's Great Big Book Bash is now FREE!

The Library Foundation’s Annual Great Big Book Bash program is back again to give children and families a chance to interact with their favorite authors.  This year, the Great Big Book Bash will serve as a kick-off to our Summer Reading Program on May 21, 2011 at the Main Branch Library.    Two sessions will be hosted featuring two different authors.   Read more about The Great Big Book Bash

Unrestricted WI-FI internet access is now available for the public without login requirements.

Relax and Unwind at the Madison Library After-Hours

 Your Madison Library staff is ready to mingle in a casual meet-and-greet after-hours event Friday, May 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

After the doors officially close Friday evening at 5pm, the Madison Branch staff will be hosting a special After Hours engagement to unwind after a long week.   The first After-Hours event at the Madison Public Library, staff are thrilled to get an opportunity to kick back and get to know more patrons in a relaxed meet-and-greet atmosphere outside of regular business hours.    Everyone is invited to attend. Get your tickets now for a  "Salute to Our Greatest Generation", a special presentation of World War II musical tribute 'My Grandfather's Letters'.

Bookmobile featured in Sci-Quest 'Hands on Trucks' exhibit

Come out and see the HMCPL “Bookmobile” as part of Sci Quest's "Hands-on Trucks" exhibit this Saturday. 

The event serves as a great opportunity to give families in our community an opportunity to learn more about HMCPL and bookmobile services.  The HMCPL Bookmobile will participate in many of the summer programs that will be offered by local school systems this year.  The Sci Quest "Hands-on Trucks" exhibit will allow the Bookmobile to be introduced to children that will be seeing the truck over the summer.
