Teen Writers' Group April Meeting

Young wordsmiths of Madison, tune your ears. The Teen Writers' Group of Madison will congregate April 3rd, Thursday, at 5:00. Gathered young writers will discuss dialogue, share pieces, and craft! We will construct quill pens with which to arm ourselves in the written battles in which we engage. May we see you then!

 

Huntsville Fencing Club Demonstration

Come and be part of our Community Read Shakespeare Celebration! The Huntsville Fencing Club will be at the Madison Library on Saturday, April 12 at 1:00. They will demonstrate fencing, including historical techniques. This free program is for all ages to enjoy!

Decorate a tote with your favorite quote from Shakespeare as part of the library’s Annual Community Read event. This class is for adults and teens ages 14 and up. YA Book Club at Madison

Madison's YA Book Group will be meeting this Thursday, March 20th, 2014, at 5:00 in the YA room at the Madison Library. We will be discussing Marissa Meyer's Cinder, a futuristic retelling of Cinderella, involving androids, cyborgs, lunar aliens, and of course, a ball. Come discuss the timeless fairy tale set in a seemingly too fantastical setting.

Celtic Writing Class

Learn to write your name in Celtic Letters on Saturday, March 29 @ 10am at the Madison Public Library. Discover Celtic designs and decorations as you turn your name into a work of art. Event will be hosted by special guests from the Fitness Arts Center.
Event is free, but RSVP is required. Event is suitable for ages 5-12.

Homework Haven: ACT Special Session

Homework Haven presents ACT Resources at your Library! Are you getting ready to take the ACT in the coming weeks? Madison Library will provide a special session of Homework Haven today, March 19th, at 4:00, highlighting library resources for test prep. Come to the Young Adult room at 4:00 if interested. No RSVP required.

 

Calligraphy: Beginning Italic

Join instructor, Carol Tillman, for this six week course to learn the Italic or Chancery Cursive hand using a broad edge pen. The Italic hand dates from about 1400 and is probably the most common text hand used today. The class will meet every Thursday, beginning April 3 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.

Carol has been doing Calligraphy for over 35 years and is a member of the Calligraphy Arts Guild of Huntsville and the Utah Calligraphic Artists.

Latin American Crafts: Huichol Art
