How to Avoid Being a Holiday Victim

Stay safe this holiday season! Lt. Wayne Kamus, of the Madison Police Department, will be at the Madison Library on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1:00 p.m. Lt. Kamus will give a presentation with valuable tips on how to avoid being the victim of a holiday crime.

A New Perspective on Alzheimer's and Dementia Care

Are you caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or Dementia? We can help! Christy Todd, Community Relations Coordinator from Senior Helpers, will be giving a presentation with a positive approach to caring for family members with these diseases. Her free seminar will include information on: 

  • How and when to seek help from a physician
  • The difference between Alzheimer's and dementia
  • How different parts of the brain are affected by dementia
  • Techniques to provide effective care

Teen Masquerade Ball Prep at the Madison Library

The 5th Annual Masquerade Ball is fast approaching. This year's theme is Cosplay! Don't know what cosplay is? Come to the Madison Library on October 3rd at 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm for a quick tutorial in cosplaying, ComicCons, and information about the event itself. Snacks will be provided.

Spanish Storytimes

The Madison Public Library continues its once-a-month Spanish story time on Monday, September 9th, at 10:30 a.m.

Special guest Ms Susana will host an all Spanish storytime with fun songs and stories on the second Monday of each month. Books and songs will be appropriate for ages 2-5. Contact Maggie Allen at or 256-461-0046 for more information.
