Tuesdays with TED

Exercise your mind and expand your understanding with the library and TED!

TED talks are short video presentations (usually around 20 minutes) by the world's greatest experts in their fields. Some are challenging, some are controversial, some are inspiring, all are educational.

On select Tuesdays, at the lunch hour (12-1 pm), we screen a national "TED talk" and then discuss the topic as a group. There will be a moderator, and often a local expert guest facilitator, at each meeting.

You are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch. Coffee will be provided.

Registration is not necessary.

Schedule of TED Talks

June 9: How to Spot a Liar
June 23: How Schools are Killing Creativity
July 14: The History of Our World in 18 Minutes
July 28: We Need to Talk About an Injustice
August 11: If I Should Have a Daughter
August 25: The Power of Introverts
September 8: The Price of Shame
September 22: Confessions of a Bad Feminist
October 13: Why You Will Fail to Have a Great Career
October 27: The Power of Vulnerability
**

**Beginning in November, Tuesdays with TED will be held only once per month. Please check the events calendar or email asprogramming@hmcpl.org for the most updated information on schedule, topics, and guest facilitator.

Subject-matter requests, suggestions, and other questions are always accepted at: asprogramming@hmcpl.org.
