Please note: To fully honor our nation's Flag, all regularly scheduled youth programs will be canceled.  We invite parents and children to participate in our Flag Day activities instead.

Ever Rhythms offers a unique approach to team building using rhythm-based activities.  It is not just about playing games, but recognizing the “metaphors from the rhythm experiences” have valuable impact  for children.  The focus of this program will be "How Native Americans, Africans, and American African slaves used drumming and rhythm to communicate".  Come drum with us!

Want something fun to do with your kids?  Drop in the to the Library!  Every Monday during Summer Reading, the Main Library will be hosting "Drop In Day".  From 9:00 am - 5:00 pm families can drop in with their kids to see what's going on.  There will be make and take crafts (with some specifically designed to be easy, medium, and hard) and a scavenger hunt for both pre-readers and readers.  Crafts and Scavenger Hunts will feature a different theme each week.  So drop in and have some fun at the Library each Monday.

Book Explorers Present: Local Voyages for Little Pirates- A Visit with the Huntsville Visitor's Bureau

It's summer time, the gas prices are high, the beach seems far away....what's a Mommy or Daddy Pirate to do??  Staycation of course!  Find out how with a representative from the Huntsville Visitor's Bureau.  She will discuss all of the exciting opportunities for families within a 45 minute drive of Huntsville.  And as she's discussing all of this fun information with the Parent Pirates, the little pirates will be playing pirate-y games and talking to a REAL LIVE PIRATE!!!

Fiesta! Summer Reading Kick Off Party

Join us for an authentic Mexican Fiesta!  This party is the kick off to our Summer Reading Program: One World, Many Stories.  This summer we will travel all around the world, but we are starting on Friday, May 27 with Mexico.  Join us @1:00pm for fun, games, music, and food.  Will you be the one to break the Piñata?  Will you outlast everyone else in the Macarena dance off?  What about pinning the tail on El Burro?  This event is FREE to the public and appropriate for all ages.
