Access 1

Beginning database management with Microsoft Access 2010, including database concepts, opening and closing databases, database keys, creating a blank database, tables and field types, entering information in a database, field properties, and closing a database. You must be comfortable with Microsoft Office programs before attempting this class. It is not for beginners.

You'll learn how to download your selections to your computer at home or transfer them to a compatible portable device for use on the go. This is not a troubleshooting session. Examine popular presentation software and create and modify a basic presentation in class with PowerPoint. You should already have mastered basic PC skills. Word skills are helpful.

Online Job Application Skills

Location: Main Library

A class to help those who must apply for jobs online to learn more about what is required and how to apply. Participants will receive a sample job application with information that may be required, and once they've gathered it, they can sign up for personalized assistance from a librarian to complete an actual job application online. This is not a class about job sites, but about the parts of an online job application. Keyboarding, Internet, and PC skills are helpful for the personalized lab portion of the class.
