Online Job Application Skills

A class to help those who must apply for jobs online to learn more about what is required and how to apply. Participants will receive a sample job application with information that may be required, and once they've gathered it, they can sign up for personalized assistance from a librarian to complete an actual job application online. Keyboarding, Internet, and PC skills are helpful for the personalized lab portion of the class.

Tech Topic -- Power Searching

Have you ever wished you could search a little more effectively? Tired of trying to plow through 15 million results on Google? We'll be talking about Power Searching -- reducing the number of results to things that might actually be useful for you. Handouts on search techniques will be provided, and we'll talk as a group about search methods that work for us.

Tech Topics are a regular series of discussions about computing topics. There will be no hands-on work, but you should have basic Internet experience. Class will be held in the second floor Events Room.
