Party with a Plan

Location: Madison Public Library
Date: Tuesday, January 7, 2014 - 6:00pm - 7:30pm

2014 has officially begun, and it's time to party & plan for a great New Year! We'll create art inspired by our resolutions while we mingle and snack. No RSVP required, but let Ms Maggie know if you're interested, so we have enough supplies!

Weave a Round Basket

Please join instructor, Crystal Kitchens on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 9:00 to 3:00 in the Madison Library meeting room. You will learn how to make a round basket. No basket making experience is required. For those who already know how to make a basket, you will have the opportunity to weave a basket over a quart jar (for use as a flower vase that will hold water) or weave a double-walled basket. The supply fee for this class is $8.00. Registration is required and spaces are limited. Pinterest Test Lab 3-D Snowman

Attention all Pinterest fans! Join us each month in the Pinterest Test Lab as we tackle a popular craft from Pinterest. In our January session, we will make 3-D snowmen in a frame. Cost is $3.00. Mo Willems Day!

Location: Main Library
Date: Tuesday, February 11, 2014 - 9:00am - 9:00pm

February 11th is the birthday of one of our very favorite children’s book authors, Mo Willems, creator of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, the Elephant and Piggy series and Knuffle Bunny! To celebrate Mo’s birthday, we’ll read his books at our 9:15am and 10:30am storytimes and offer Mo-themed crafts and games all day. To make the party last a little longer, Youth Services will have a Mo Willems craft to make in our department all month, so stop by, make a craft, and by participating you may win a cool prize!

Children's Chinese New Year Celebration!

Location: Main Library Auditorium
Date: Monday, January 27, 2014 - 3:30pm - 5:00pm

Experience Chinese culture! To celebrate Chinese New Year, Huntsville Chinese Village will offer an afternoon of music, dance and games! Learn about Taichi through the Lion Dance, watch a live martial arts demonstration, see a hulusi (a traditional Chinese musical instrument), practice Chinese yo yo and more! A great cultural experience for children of all ages.
