Friendship Bracelets with Ms. Crystal

Get ready for back to school and making new friends with an awesome new skill: Friendship Bracelets!  Crystal Kitchens, crafter extraordinaire, will be at the Library to teach the skills of weaving with Soda straws.  This program is free and perfect for kids in grades 3-5.

The Library will provide LEGOS, you provide the imagination!  Chidren can build creations out of their wildest dreams.  The Library will put these creations on display for 1 week, until the next LEGO Mania.

Beginning Crochet and Broomstick Lace

Location: Bailey Cove Branch Library

Learn a couple of crochet stitches and you’ll soon be making “peacock eye” lace.  Broomstick lace can be used to make all sorts of lacy items from afghans to scarfs to shawls.  Broomstick lace allows you to make larger items faster because the loops take up a lot of space.  Previous crochet experience is not required.

Decorate Cupcakes @ Madison

Weave a Tote Bag @ Madison

Learn to weave a tote bag/purse at Madison on July 27!  Crystal Kitchens will teach how to handle reed, fill in the bottom, and shape a basket.  Dyed reed will be available for decorating your basket.

No basket making experience is required.  Basket making is wet work, so wear old clothes and bring a towel.  The leader will bring all the tools and other supplies you’ll need to use during the workshop.  Bring a sack lunch.
