Personal Experiences of the Battle of the Bulge (Lunch & Learn)

Victor Neiland will share will share with us his involvement in The Battle Of The Bulge with the 30th Division.  His use of pictorial resources will give the listener a graphic view of those cold days of December 1944 when Generals Montgomery, Patton and Bradley and over one million soldiers fought the battle that would lead to the end of WW II.

Alabama Architecture Through the Eyes of Harvie Jones – Huntsville’s Preeminent Historic Preservation Architect

Six Alabama Architecture Programs created in the 1980s by Huntsville Architect Harvie Jones, FAIA.  The programs were developed with the help of the Alabama Chapter of the American Institute of Architects to give a glimpse of Alabama Architecture and help people understand the rich heritage of architecture in the region.

LearningQUEST - Program Development Committee Meeting

The Program Development Committee will meet on Tuesday, August 17, 1-3 p.m. in the library auditorium to begin planning programs for the Winter/Spring term (January – May).  Responsibilities include soliciting program proposals, selection of programs, coordinating meeting space & AV requirements, preparing and distributing the catalog, and coordinating the programs with many sub-tasks in these areas.  There are places on this committee for many additional members and your participation would be welcomed.  Please come join us.

LearningQuest - Visions of the Native - Library Benefit

A fascinating presentation of “Visions of the Native” will explore the image of Native Americans in literature from the time of Columbus to the mid-nineteenth century.  Featured speaker will be Anissa Graham, English instructor at the University of North Alabama.  Special entertainment will be a talented group of dulcimer players reciting music of the period.  Seating is limited, with advance tickets only.  Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased by calling the Liles' at 256-883-2607.
