Understanding Type II Diabetes

You can raise your diabetes awareness during a seminar at the Bessie K. Russell Public Library!  Nutritionist Victor Owens will discuss the risk factors for type II diabetes as well as signs and symptoms of the disease, myths about diabetes and resources to help you manage the disease. Virtual Field Trip: Spring Break Beach Trip!

It's Spring Break, so let's go to the Beach! Virtually, that is.  We'll be visiting with Rangers and kid hosts from the National Park Service as they talk about the islands in the Gulf of Mexico, how they track the animals and plants on those islands, and how influences from nature and humans (including the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill) have changed the seashore.   This event is perfect for kids in grades 3 and up.

Preview of Alabama Youth Ballet's Sleeping Beauty

Join our Pajamatime Storytime group for a very special preview of Alabama Youth Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty.   Dancers will show off costumes, talk about the story, and show some of the beautiful ballet moves from the production.
