"Billy Goats Gruff and Other Stuff" Puppet Show

What happens when the three Billy Goats Gruff try to cross the troll’s bridge? All sorts of stuff does in this retelling of the story. David Stephens’ production of Billy Goats Gruff and Other Stuff will take you on a fun filled journey where you’ll meet familiar faces and learn Little Red Riding Hood’s first name.  From Farmer Frick and Farmer Frack to the crany troll, kids of all ages will laugh and learn during the show!

Tuesday, July 6: Listen to songs, stories, anecdotes, quips and snippets from the life and travels of “Riverboat John” Ferguson, Americana folkorist, singer, storyteller, musican, author, and letcurer. Ferguson will be performing original songs and stories centered around his book "The Adventures of “Riverboat John” Ferguson-“Glimpses of Huntsville in the 1950’s." His book will be available for sale and signing at the event.

HMCPL Pirate Day

Ahoy ye librarylubbers! Join HMCPL for their first ever "Pirate Day". All programs all day long will be pirate themed, and library employees will be dressed in their finest Pirate gear! So practice your very best pirate-y "ARGS!" and join us for Pirate Day.

Chinese New Year Celebration: Year of the Tiger

Saturday, February 13: Family-friendly event with lots of activities for kids. See Chinese music, art and dance as well as martial arts demonstrations, fashion shows, and a wide variety of children's activities. Many of Huntsville's Chinese restaurants will provide food for the evening. Tickets are $15 for adults (age 16 and up), $10 for teens (ages 11-15), and free for kids 10 and under. Read more »

The Life and Times of Harriet Tubman
Renee Mobley, PhD, steps outside of her professional role as a Marriage and Family Therapist and embodies the role of Harriet Tubman. Dr. Mobley has performed this one-woman act during Black History Month for schools, churches and public facilities all over the nation for more than 10 years.
During the month of February we recognize the roles of African Americans and their
contribution to our communities and the nation. This presentation is appropriate for all ages.
