Geocaching 101 for Families

The Murphy Writers Group, representing many different stages and genres of writing, meets on the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 3 p.m. at the Eleanor E. Murphy Library Meeting Room.

Members of the group are given the opportunity to read to their peers and receive positive and helpful feedback. The group is recommended for ages 14 and older. The group is led by Kemi Elufiede, a graduate student, who has extensive experience working with adult writers.

The members welcome a diverse group of individuals to join adventures with literature.

Huntsville Civil Rights activist Dr. Sonnie Hereford discusses his memoir, Beside the Troubled Waters.  Based on interviews conducted by Jack Ellis, the account spans much of Dr. Hereford’s life, from childhood to medical school, to his participation in the Huntsville Civil Rights movement, and after the end of segregation.

Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Acclaimed YA author R. A. Nelson joins our discussion of his novel, set in the environs of the evangelical revival circuit and centered around Ronald Earl, who at ten became the electrifying “boy wonder” preacher known as Little Texas.
