Elizabeth Hoekenga will show you how to find news from The Huntsville Times on your computer, mobile device or tablet. Learn to find news for your area, find special features like comics and puzzles, set up an AL.com account, and sign in.  She’ll also explain how to get help and answers to your questions.

Please bring a laptop computer, smart phone or tablet (such as an iPad) if you own one. There will be a limited number of iPads available for use at the program.

Weather Preparedness with the National Weather Service

The National Weather Service will share all about how to prepare for dangerous weather.  In addition, the Friends of the Library will be giving away an "Everything About Weather" basket that includes a weather radio, flashlight, rain jacket and dozens more weather related items.  Tickets to win the basket are on sale now for $1 each at the Monrovia Circulation desk.  All money raised goes towards the Monrovia Library Building Fund to help fund a children's addition to the library.

Civil Rights Bus Tour to Birmingham

Enjoy a lecture by Dr. Sonnie Hereford en route to Birmingham, lunch at Niki’s West (extra cost), a 16th Street Baptist Church tour, and a self-guided tour at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Cost is $39, under 65; $35 over 65, and covers bus and entrance fees.
