Learn to weave a purse or tote basket at the Madison Public Library on Friday, June 28, from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Crystal Kitchens will teach you how to handle reed, how to start a basket with flat reed, fill in the bottom, and shape the basket. Dyed reed will be available for decorating. The finished product should be approximately 4.5" x 9" x 8".

Learn how to weave on a triangle frame loom at the Madison Public Library on Friday, May 17, from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. During the workshop you will learn to weave with continuous thread, and how to finished and join the triangles. We will use a 36" loom to make a child's shawl or an adult scarf. We will have a fashion show of scarves, shawls, ruanas, and ponchos to give you ideas. You'll learn how to make your own triangle looms in various sizes. No weaving experience is necessary.

Both dyed reed and seagrass will be available for decorating your basket.
If you've already made a melon basket, you can learn how to add shaping to make a "fanny" basket.
