For the first 18 years of her life Nicola lived in Yorkshire, within a stone's throw of the moors that had inspired the Brontë sisters. She wrote bits and pieces of novels in her spare time but never finished any of them. Eventually, she sent in the first three chapters of a Regency romance to a publisher and, although they were rejected, she found she had become so addicted to writing that she could not stop. Happily, her third attempt was accepted and she has never looked back.

The books of Kimberly Lang

Location: Main Library
Date: Wednesday, September 23, 2009 - 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Kimberly Lang hid romance novels behind her textbooks starting in junior high, and even a master's program in English couldn't break the obsession with dashing heroes and Happily Ever After. A ballet dancer turned English teacher, Kimberly married an electrical engineer and turned her life into an ongoing episode of "When Dilbert Met Frasier." She and her Darling Geek live in beautiful North Alabama with their one Amazing Child--who, unfortunately, shows an aptitude to sports.

The books of Lyn Stone

Location: Main Library

While studying the market on covers, she became firmly hooked on the contents of the books and decided to try writing instead. Lyn feels a special affinity for England and Scotland with their wonderful castles and intriguing history. The American South and Southwest are her favorite settings for contemporary adventures.
