She and her Darling Geek live in beautiful North Alabama with their one Amazing Child--who, unfortunately, shows an aptitude to sports.

Sister 2 Sister: Don't Make a Black Woman Take off Her Earrings

Location: Main Library
Date: Saturday, July 22, 2006 - 4:00pm - 5:00pm

Madea helpfully suggests, "If you don't understand something I'm saying here and you're not black, you will have to ask somebody who is. Madea, Southern-speak for "mother dear," is the fierce alter ego of Tyler Perry, who has paraded the marijuana-smoking, pistol-packing, trash-talking matron through a series of hit gospel plays and films. Although primarily a comic figure based on unapologetically crude behavior coming from a harmless-looking old lady, Madea is envisioned by Perry as a throwback to a time when strong matriarchs ruled the community.

Cursed with health problems and drawn into trouble more often than not, Tommy is the recipient of pity rather than admiration. He is nothing like his stepbrother, Eric. Eric, a Nordic Adonis, is graced by a seemingly endless supply of good fortune - he is charming, a star athlete, and a magnet for anyone in his sphere. Yet in spite of these differences, Eric and Tommy are as close as two humans can be. After tragedy rips their makeshift family apart, the lives of these boys split.
