Discover the Technology of Animal Tracking

Meet Heather Montgomery, author of Wild Discoveries: Wacky New Animals as she talks about the research that went into her book, and the technology the discoverers used to find these animals.  Some of the tools were very low tech (a magnifying glass) to high tech (GPS Systems).   If you love animals and technology, you’re going to love this program! This Science Club is a part of the Discover Tech Program.

Explore the Discover Tech Exhibit

The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is one of eight libraries in the United States that will be hosting the Discover Tech Exhibit.  This exhibit features exciting interactive elements and displays about technology and engineering.  Be one of the first people to experience the magic of Discover Tech. This Science Club is a part of the Discover Tech Program.

Meet the Moonbuggy!

In the Great Moonbuggy Race, Students are required to design a vehicle that addresses a series of engineering problems that are similar to problems faced by the original Moonbuggy team.  Meet the internationally known Moonbuggy and the kids who built it! This Science Club is a part of the Discover Tech Program.

Zip Line Science

Location: Main Library
Date: Tuesday, May 7, 2013 - 3:30pm - 4:30pm

 

Build a design that will transport a ping pong ball down a zip line.  We’ll discuss the physics of the experiment and why some designs work better than others.  This Science Club is a part of the Discover Tech Program.

LEGO Mania

Location: Main Library
Date: Monday, May 6, 2013 - 4:30pm - 5:30pm

The Library will provide LEGOS, you provide the imagination!  Chidren can build creations out of their wildest dreams.  The Library will put these creations on display for 1 week, until the next LEGO Mania. 

Discover Tech Kick Off

Help us launch the Discover Tech exhibit AND Summer Reading at our grand opening festival!  We'll have science crafts, snacks, face painting, and live music.  Be one of the first people to try out the Discover Tech hands on exhibit!
