Cupid's Café: Beverly Jenkins

Beverly Jenkins is the nation's premier writer of African-American historical romance fiction and specializes in 19th century African American life. She has 30 published novels to date.

She has received numerous awards, including: five Waldenbooks/Borders Group Best Sellers Awards; two Career Achievement Awards from Romantic Times Magazine; a Golden Pen Award from the Black Writer's Guild, and in 1999 was named one of the Top Fifty Favorite African-American writers of the 20th Century by AABLC, the nation's largest on-line African-American book club.

Cupid's Café: Linda Winstead Jones

Linda's first book, the historical romance Guardian Angel, was released in 1994, and in the years since she's written in several romance sub-genres under several names. In order of appearance, Linda Winstead; Linda Jones; Linda Winstead Jones; Linda Devlin; and Linda Fallon. She's a six time finalist for the RITA Award and a winner (for Shades of Midnight, writing as Linda Fallon) in the paranormal category. Most recently she's been writing as Linda Jones in a couple of joint projects with Linda Howard, and rereleasing some of her backlist in ebook format.

Civil Rights Bus Tour to Birmingham

Enjoy a Civil Rights trip to Birmingham for lunch at Niki’s West (extra cost), a 16th Street Baptist Church tour, and a self-guided tour at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Cost is $39, under 65; $35 over 65, and covers bus and entrance fees. A trip liability waiver is required.
