Notes or comments:

Founded in 1987 as Alabama's first land trust, the Land Trust of North Alabama protects forests, fresh water resourced, and wildlife habitat in ten counties of North Alabama. Enjoy 45+ miles of free hiking trails on four Nature Preserves - three of which are each larger than Central Park. The largest--Mone Sano Nature Preserve--is the beautiful green backdrop for the city of Huntsville. The Land Trust's award winning environmental education program "Tuesdays on the Trail" and seasonal guided hikes encourage folks of all ages to enjoy and appreciate the outdoors for exercise and reflection. The acres preserved forever by the Land Trust are true community treasures. Want to volunteer for our Trail Care Crew or for fun events? Call 256.534.LAND (5263).
