A Note From Friends Inc. For Information On Their Org
It is our mission to provide support to patients with serious illnesses or disabilities, enabling them to maintain their independence through caring volunteers.
When a person is diagnosed with a serious illness or disability, they face a variety of new situations, treatments, and changes in lifestyle brought about by that illness. Through caring volunteers, and with no cost to the patient or their family, Friends, Inc. offers multiple support services to seriously ill and disabled patients, helping them to cope with their new circumstances and enabling them to maintain their independence. Friends, Inc. provides support services such as: transportation to medical appointments and cancer treatments, respite care to caregivers, running errands, grocery shopping, and prescription pick-up; emotional support through friendly visits and phone calls; access to community resources and spiritual support, as needed; a medical supply lending closet, and a wheelchair-accessible van.
Friends, Inc. volunteers receive ongoing training and support. Volunteers are offered
opportunities that meet their interests and availability, and are allowed great flexibility in scheduling as there is no minimum time commitment required. Please call to learn more about the volunteering opportunities available through Friends, Inc.
Friends, Inc. is a non-profit organization, committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the seriously ill, disabled, and elderly in Huntsville and Madison County. As a non-profit organization, Friends, Inc. relies on grants, private donations, and community support to help us meet our mission and vision. All donations are tax deductible.
