How to do Things: Weave a Basket

Signups closed for this Event

Join us for this fun and creative craft class, where we'll each weave a basket on a 5” x 8” wooden base.  Baskets are pretty, and practical, any time of the year! In this class you’ll learn how to handle basket reed and how to shape a basket.   No basket making experience is required.

Basket making is wet work, so wear old clothes and bring a towel.  The instructor will bring all the tools and other supplies you’ll need to use during the workshop. However, we ask that you please bring $5 to cover the cost of supplies.

This class is limited to 18 particpants. Preregistration is required, using the form below.

This workshop is provided by the Huntsville Fiber Guild and the ongoing Basket Classes at the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center.

In the How to do Things! series on the second and fourth Tuesday evening of every month, the instructor will teach the basics of a useful skill, craft or task, and then provide participants with resources or information to further pursue the skill. Find out more by visiting the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library's programming and events calendar at http://hmcpl.org/events.

Please contact Luisa at lmorenilla@hmcpl.org if you have questions about this program or other sessions in the How to do Things! series.
