Over the last 15 years, the Huntsville Botanical Garden’s “Galaxy of Lights” has evolved into a traditional holiday season evening’s entertainment for the regional community. This is an all-volunteer operated 50-day event that was created to provide a source of winter revenue for the private not-for-profit garden. Information on the origin and development of this unique show will be presented. The principals of operation, creative processes, and scheduling of activities reveal a yearlong activity for the volunteers. The technology used to light and animate the displays will be demonstrated.
