Vive le Livre Preview. Thomas Jefferson: American Perspectives
Get ready for Vive le Livre!
Jefferson enthusiast Cutter Hughes offers a perspective on the changing attitudes toward Thomas Jefferson in our nation’s history.
Cutter outlines Vive author Jon Meacham’s public thoughts on Jefferson, with a special nod to Meacham’s presidential biography, "Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power," available in November 2012.
Vive le Livre is the Huntsville Library Foundation’s Annual Gala Fundraising Event. An evening set aside to celebrate the book, Vive features a great contemporary author for dinner, keynote address and book signing. This year Vive features Jon Meacham on Tuesday, October 23 at 7:00 in the North Hall of the VBC.
Pulitzer Prize-winning author and contributing editor at TIME, Jon Meacham is one of America's most prominent public intellectuals. Known as a skilled raconteur and an accomplished historian with a depth of knowledge about politics, religion, and current affairs, he understands and analyzes how issues and events impact modern life.
This is a joint program sponsored by Huntsville-Madison County Public Library and LearningQUEST.
Auditorium
The auditorium is located on the first floor of the Main Library. After opening the exterior doors of the Main Library, immediately turn right. The auditorium is located straight ahead, at the end of the hallway.
