Intro to Crochet and Broomstick Lace
On Friday, December 28, Crystal Kitchens will be back at the Madison Public Library for an introductory class on how to crochet and make broomstick lace. The class will be from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. so please bring a sack lunch. Learn some crochet stitches (chain, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet and slip stitch) and how to read crochet patterns in the first part of the class. Learn how to make broomstick lace in the second part of the class.
Learn a couple of crochet stitches and you’ll soon be making “peacock eye” lace. Broomstick lace can be used to make all sorts of lacy items from afghans to scarfs to shawls. It also allows you to make larger items faster because the loops take up a lot of space. Previous crochet experience is not required.
This class is open to ages 14+, and the supply fee is $5. Space is limited so reserve your spot soon!
For additional information, call Rachel at 256-461-0046 or email rhooper [at] hmcpl [dot] org.
