Crochet Classes at Madison
Learn how to crochet at the Madison Public Library this spring.. This beginner crochet class will meet in the Reading Room from 5:30-7:30 on 3 nights:
March 28: Back to Basics: Learn to crochet a variety of stitches (basic chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, etc.). Participants will need to bring a ball of yarn (preferably Red Heart, Caron Simply Soft Yarn, or I Love This Yarn!), a crochet hook, and stitch markers. Please try to bring yarn that is not multi-colored, white, or black because these are harder to use when learning.
April 11: Continue with the stitches you learned in the first class and learn to make a potholder! You will also learn how to change colors on your project.
April 25: Learn to work in the round! We will learn how to read a picture pattern and make a set of coasters. Participants need to bring 1-2 skeins of either Peachnes 'n Cream or Suger 'n Cream yarn and a crochet hook. If we have enough time, we will learn how to make soap on a rope!
Space is limited, so reservations are required. This class is free and open to ages 18+.
