How to Do Things: Paper Bead Earrings

Supplies Fee: $3.00, required at registration.  Registration deadline: February 28.
Maximum number of students (age 14+) :  12.
Introducing Paper Beads!  Paper bead making dates back to the early 20th century when turning scraps of decorative paper into jewelry was popular. Now is your chance to try this antique jewelry technique.

In this class you'll make a few beads using your choice of paper and a few simple tools.  Then you'll create a pair of earrings to take home.

All tools and materials will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your favorite scrapbooking paper. You can also use scraps of wallpaper or pages from old calendars or magazines.  A variety of earring findings will be available.  If you have allergies to metals or need clip-on earring findings, please feel free to bring your own.  For more information, call Sophie Young at 532-2362.
