100 Years of World War I on Film: All Quiet on the Western Front

As part of the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War II, we are showing five films released over the past century with the war as the setting and backdrop.


July 28 – All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)

Fierce anti-war statement tracing a group of eager, young, idealistic German boys into war and the subsequent disillusion each of them experiences when facing the harsh reality of survival. Starring Lew Ayers.

The film will be shown in the Second Floor Events Room at the Main Library at 6:00 PM.
