100 Years of World War I on Film: Gallipoli

As part of the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War II, we are showing five films released over the past century with the war as the setting and backdrop.

August 11 – Gallipoli (1981)

Account of young men from rural Australia enlisting in the army and sent to fight in an attack on the peninsula of Gallipoli located in eastern Turkey and the resulting loss of innocence. Starring Mel Gibson.

The film will be shown in the Second Floor Events Room at the Main Library at 6:00 PM.
